I am currently a senior division 1 rower at the University of Rhode Island that was recruited out of highschool. Last year as a junior I was in the second varsity eight, where I was either bow or two seat during the season. Racing as two seat, my boat placed first in our conference championship for the Atlantic-10 conference. This race was a direct qualifier where we were then given the opportunity to race at NCAA's. I started off rowing for another team and grew to love the sport, but wanted to become better. Oksana offered to coach me, and teach me how to be the best rower I could be. I would not have been recruited to row in college if it wasn't for my experience on ACRA. ACRA inspires a competitive environment while giving you all the tools you need to row fast. Rowing teaches important life skills like teamwork, dedication, and determination. If you have the drive to excel in physical fitness and rowing, ACRA is the team to join.Josie Grady, Class of '18 (University of Rhode Island)
My high school rowing career with ACRA began at the club's formation in June 2015. Entering my final year of High School, I joined ACRA for the excellent coaching of both Oksana & Egor and the relationship we developed at our former club. In that final year of high school rowing I had the opportunity to race at both Head of the Charles in the Men's Youth 2X, USRowing Youth National Championships where I placed 10th overall in the Men's Lightweight 2X, and Independence Day Regatta where I placed 2nd overall in the Men's Youth 2X. The rigorous training program set forth by ACRA's coaches and the determination of my teammates pushed my limits as a rower and prepared me well to continue my rowing career at Marist college in the fall of 2016.Ryan Sullivan, Class of '16 (Marist College)
